Albina Head Start
Albina Head Start & Early Head Start promote school readiness of children ages birth to five from low-income families by supporting the development of the whole child. All services are provided FREE to families.
Programs:
Early Head Start (EHS) serves prenatal moms and children from birth to 3 years old. Head Start (HS) serves children 3-5 years old.
⇾ Center-Based Program:
- Schedule: September to June
- Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Classrooms located in North, Northeast and Southeast Portland.
- Breakfast, Lunch and an Afternoon Snack
- Spanish Language in all HS & EHS Classrooms.
- Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M)
- Low child to staff ratios
- Health Tracking including Wellness Checks, Dental and Growth, Vision & Hearing Screenings
⇾ Home-Based Program:
Assigned a professionally trained Home Visitor providing weekly home visits.
- 90-min visit weekly
- Focus is on supporting the Parent-Child Relationship and the Parent's role as their child's first teacher.
- Child development information is individualized to support the child's physical, social-emotional, and intellectual development.
- Developmental screenings and assessments.
- Health Tracking including Wellness Checks, Dental and Growth, Vision & Hearing Screenings

- Your family resides within North, Northeast, and Southeast Portland to 110th Ave.
- Your family qualifies for or receives the following assistance services: ERDC, SSI, SNAP, TANF.

- Your family income is less than 130% of the Federal Poverty Level
